On 12 June 2024, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, organised a ceremony to hand over the Exequatur to Mr. Wiesław Henryk Żyznowski, which authorises him to perform duty as the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Krakow, with consular district covering Małopolska, Silesia, Opole, and Lower Silesia.

On this occasion, the Ambassador had a meeting with Mr. Żyznowski where the Ambassador congratulated him on the appointment, introduced the Embassy’s team, shared the current foreign policy of Thailand, gave policy direction on how the Honorary Consul could support the work of the Embassy in the promotion of relationship between Thailand and Poland, and updated on the Embassy’s work plan for this year.

The Honorary Consul will have a significant role in promoting relations between Thailand and Poland in various areas, including political, trade and investment, as well as protecting Thai nationals within his consular district.

Mr. Żyznowski is the first Honorary Consul of Thailand in Poland. He co-founded Mercator Medical S.A. in the 1990s and hold the position of President of the Management Board since 2010. The company is a big manufacturer and distributor of medical rubber gloves, and is the top Polish investor in Thailand.
