On 3-19 November 2016, Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, in his capacity as Special Representative of the Chair of the Group of 77 and China for Climate Change and alternate Head of Thai delegation, attended the Conference on Climate Change in Marrakech, Morocco.  During the event, Ambassador Manasvi chaired and coordinated the position of the Group of 77 and China, a group comprising 134 countries from the developing world, represented and delivered statements on behalf of the Group on matters relating to climate change.  The Marrakech Conference presided by the Moroccan Presidency concluded successfully and was able to achieve significant progress in the development of the rule book of the Paris Agreement, which entered into force earlier than expected, with currently 113 countries having ratified the Paris Agreement.  The next meeting of the Conference on Climate Change will be presided by Fiji as incoming COP Presidency.  It was also announced by the delegation of Poland at the conclusion of the meeting that Poland is ready to host the COP in 2018.
