On 5 October 2016, H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Poland, attended the Asia and Pacific Day at Sejm co-organized by the Sejm, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Polish Institute for International Affairs of the Republic of Poland to discuss Poland’s presence and its foreign policy towards Asia.
The event was opened with the welcoming remarks of H.E. Mr. Marek Kuchcinski, Marshal of the Sejm, and H.E. Mr. Witold Waszczykowski, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Special Assignments of Sri Lanka, was invited as a keynote speaker. Among other distinguished speakers joining in the panel discussions included Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economic development, Deputy Marshal of the Senate, members of the Sejm, representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from Board of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency. The main topics focused on Asia’s place in Poland’s foreign policy, opportunities and challenges in the region and how Poland can achieve economic success in Asia.
In addition, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw together with other diplomatic missions from ASEAN countries and the Asia-Pacific region participated in the cultural promotion activity with a space provided to showcase and distribute promotional materials on cultural, tourism and trade to the members of Parliament, government officials, scholars, and other distinguished guests attending the conference as well as to offer traditional food tasting.
