On 22 March 2024, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnawin, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, presided over the opening ceremony of the First Thai Cuisine Championships in Poland. The competition was organised by SMAKKi GASTROFAIR under the patronage of the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw, with an aim to promote Thai Food popularity and to expand the market for Thai food products and Thai cooking ingredients, as well as to seek a talented chef who has a true passion in Thai food and Thai food cooking in Poland.
In this competition, six chefs from various Thai restaurants across Poland joined the event. During the first round, six contestants were tasked to prepare ‘Pad Thai’, and for the final round, the three finalists were tasked to create their own menu. After 30 minutes of the final round, Mr. Bartosz Gawlik, a chef from Stol Na Szwedzkiej restaurant in Wroclaw, won the first place. The Ambassador awarded a certificate of achievement in recognition of culinary skills and passion for creating flavourful Thai dishes to the young, talented chef.
The Royal Thai Embassy conveyed our appreciations to all contestants and the event sponsors for the participation and support.
