On 17 May 2023 Mr. Nattapong Suwanpakdee, Chargé d'affaires a.i., delivered the opening remarks for the Thai Day in Toruń at the Centre of Contemporary Art. The event, attended by over one hundred participants, was co-hosted by the RTE and Mr. Mario Betancourt Lopez, President of the Association of Thai-Polish Friendship, Society of Asia and the Pacific, and Friends of Thailand in Poland.

The participants enjoyed the video presentations on Thai arts and culture, as well as tourism under the theme 'Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters'. They also had the opportunity to experience Thai folk play, Thai dance, and Thai culture through the performance and presentation by the Polish students currently undertaking Thai language course at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

During the event, there was also a chance for the participants to virtually travel to Thailand at a VR corner, and to experience Thai massage and taste Thai food provided by Thai businesses in Toruń.
