On 28 June 2021 at CookUp Studio, H.E. Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, participated in an event hosted by Qatar Airways in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw, Tourism Authority of Thailand Office in Prague, Thai Trade Office in Warsaw, and DeCare Company (importer and distributor of Thai food products in Poland). The event was aimed to provided the 25 attending tour operators in Poland information about the reopening of Thailand for tourism under the "Phuket Sandbox" policy as well as reintroducing Qatar Airways route from Warsaw to Phuket (via Doha) from July 2021 onward. In addition, the participants took part in a cooking workshop to learn to cook Thai dishes which included Tom Yam Kung, Larb Kai, Pad Thai, Massaman curry, and mango sticky rice.
Before the COVID-19 situation, Thailand is a top tourist destination for Polish travellers, receiving around 150,000 travellers from Poland.
