On 10 February 2021, H.E. Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Elzbieta Witek, Marshal of the Sejm.
Both sides exchanged information and views with respect to addressing COVID-19. Madame Speaker was interested in Thailand's COVID-19 measures and best practices in various sectors especially the hospitality and tourism sectors, while the Ambassador praised Poland’s success in providing assistance to the private sector and implementing steadfast vaccination programme. Furthermore, the Ambassador and Madame Speaker discussed ways to promote concrete cooperation in various dimensions including trade, investment and defense industry by utilizing the momentous occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Thai – Polish diplomatic relations in 2022. Madame Speaker expressed her readiness to support the promotion of bilateral partnerships and informed that, in the field of inter-Parliamentary cooperation, the Sejm is in the process of establishing a Friendship Group with Thailand which can also become another vital mechanism to advance cooperation between the two countries.
