On the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day and Thai Father’s Day on 5 December 2023, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland, hosted a reception to celebrate this auspicious occasion at the Royal Castle, Warsaw. The reception had H.E. Mr. Jarosław Lindenberg, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Guest of Honour. The event was attended by more than 250 representatives from various sectors of the Polish society, friends of Thailand and Thai community in Poland.
On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered the opening remarks to welcome the guests and emphasise the importance of the 5th December as the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day and the Father’s Day of Thailand.
In addition, the Ambassador highlighted the close bilateral relations and cooperation between Thailand and Poland in all dimenions of cooperation, especially the people-to-people cooperation which includes tourism, culture, education, food and sports. The Ambassador also mentioned that Thailand and Poland’s bilateral relations would be further strengthened through the 3rd Political Consultation which was planned to be held in Thailand in the first half of next year.
The Ambassador also took this opportunity to elaborate on the policy direction of Thailand’s newly formed government, as well as its foreign policy which would be pro-active and forward-looking with focus on economic cooperation with global partners. This includes exploring new markets and new economic opportunities to bring about tangible outcomes and better well-being of the Thai people.
After the official ceremony, the guests had the opportunity to appreciate a piano recital by a Thai pianist who performed the songs composed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and the pieces composed by Fryderyk Chopin, followed by cultural performances by a dancing troupe from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. They also enjoyed a wide variety of Thai food and desserts presented in "street food" theme.
