Between 22 - 23 September 2021, H.E. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, attended the 8th International Congress in Torun under the theme "Boundaries of Politics: Reality, Strategies, Perspectives. The Congress was organized by the Asia - Pacific Society and the Faculty of Politics of the Nicolaus University and the Municipality of Torun with Vietnam as a special guest of honour. The Ambassador actively participated in key events of the Congress including opening Thai Day 2021, delivering remarks on behalf of Thailand highlighting potentials for bilateral cooperation in all dimensions and opportunities for each country to serve as gateway for their respective regions and sub-regions as well as attending the Gala dinner.

International Asian Congress is one of the most prominent forum in Poland with particular focus on Asia. As such, the Ambassador discussed with the Congress organisers led by Dr. Adam Marszalek, President of the Asia - Pacific Society, to enhance cooperation with the Congress to promote even closer ties between the two countries and greater awareness about Thailand in Poland especially the context of the celebration of 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations next year. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, the organizer announced its selection of Thailand as the special guest of honour for the 9th Congress tentatively scheduled for May 2022.
