During 20 – 24 July 2020, H.E. Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Poland, visited Krakow – the second largest city in Poland in terms of the size and population and also one of the most vibrant economic, social and cultural centers of the country. On this occasion, the Ambassador-Designate together with Mr. Thum Niemsakul, Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs, met with the representatives from the private and academic sectors namely (1) Mr. Kazimierz Murzyn, Managing Director of Life Science Cluster and Mr. Lukasz Kutrzeba, Director of Jagiellonian Center of Innovation with the discussion on possible cooperation in the field of research and innovation as well as the promotion of Thai businesses in Poland; (2) Mr. Sebastian Chwedeczko, President of the Krakow Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the discussion on concrete ways to further enhance economic cooperation between Thailand and Poland in potential sectors; and (3) Mr. Andrzej Zdebski, Chairman of the Board of Krakchemia – one of the largest raw plastic distributors in Poland, with the discussion on possible business partnership between Thailand and Poland in raw plastic and film and exchange views on recent political and economic developments in Poland. In terms of the works related to the Thai community, the Ambassador-Designate launched the first mobile consular unit this year for which many Thai people residing in Krakow and in vicinity came to received consular services, and met with the owner and Thai people working in the Thai restaurants and Thai spas in Krakow area.
