On 18 September 2019, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Elzbieta Witek, Marshal of Sejm, on the occasion of the completion of her mission due to retirement. During the call, the Ambassador and the Marshal discussed cordial relations between Thailand and Poland and the work that have gone from strength to strength and expand to all dimensions. The Marshal expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s contribution towards closer ties between two countries and hope to see the enhanced cooperation in certain areas. As for the Sejm, she will continue to encourage the establishment of the Polish – Thai Friendship Group in Sejm in addition to the group already established in the Senate and would like to invite the President of the National Assembly of Thailand for an official visit in Poland. Ambassador also inform the Marshal that Thailand had the Thai-Polish Friendship Group in the Senate and is opening for members of the MP to form the Thai-Polish Friendship group in the house of representatives. The Marshal also hoped to see further promotion of cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, tourism and education. The Ambassador congratulated Mrs. Witek for assumption of duties as the Marshal of the Sejm and for this courtesy call. She also took this opportunity to invite Poland to consider importing more of the imported products and new ones from Thailand, especially, import of more rubbers and investing in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Thailand, which will allow both countries to work together to foster innovation in the future industries. Both the Ambassador and the Marshal also underscored the importance of people-to-people exchange which will help promote knowledge and mutual understanding between the two countries.
