1. ELIGIBLE TRAVELLERS

1.1 FOR VISIT OF UP TO 30 DAYS (temporary extension to 45 days, in effect from 22 December 2020 until 30 September 2021)

>> Update: 30 days tourist visa exemption scheme is now temporarily extended to 45 days (inclusive of 15-day quarantine). This extension will be in effect from 22 December 2020 until 30 September 2021. <<

Passport holders from the following countries/territory are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each visit:

Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme Andora, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (ROK), Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein. Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, POLAND, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UKRAINE, UAE, UK, USA, Vietnam

Bilateral Agreement arrangment Lao, Macau, Mongolia, Russia

1.2 FOR VISIT OF UP TO 90 DAYS

Passport holders from the following countries/territory are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 90 days on each visit:

Bilateral Agreement arrangment Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Korea (ROK), Peru

1.3 FOR VISIT OF UP TO 14 DAYS (CURRENTLY SUSPENDED)

Passport holders from the following countries/territory are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 14 days on each visit:

Bilateral Agreement arrangment Cambodia, Myanmar

PLEASE NOTE: Tourist Visa Exemption does not apply to foreigners holding Travel Document for Aliens issued by the above countries.

2. VISA EXEMPTION CONDITIONS

2.1 Entering the Kingdom through land/sea boarder checkpoints under Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme is permitted only twice in a calendar year, except nationals of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Singapore who may enter Thailand through such checkpoints more than twice in a calendar year. 

2.2 Travellers entering Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme must possess adequate cash of or equivalent to 20,000 Baht per person or 40,000 Baht per family.
 

3. OTHER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: CERTIFICATE OF ENTRY & OTHER DOCUMENTS

3.1 Travellers must prepare the following required documents to apply for COE online (APPLY HERE: https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/)

  • For pre-approval stage (Registration):
    • Copy of passport
    • IMPORTANT NOTICE: When applying for the COE online, please choose category "Medium Term Visitor - Visa Exemption"
  • For final approval stage (Confirmation):
    • Flight confirmation
    • Confirmation of Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotel booking for a minimum of 15 nights, starting from the date of the arrival in Thailand. Please reserve the room directly with the hotel, requesting for ASQ package. Booking may also be made via Agoda or Locanation or Ascendtravel (reservation must be made for 15 nights). Booking made via other online agents without "ASQ package" will be rejected. 
    • Health insurance which EXPRESSLY covers medical treatment expenditures of COVID-19, with minimum coverage of 100,000 USD during the entire stay in Thailand. Travellers are advised to purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria here: http://covid19.tgia.org/ Those with existing health insurance are advised to ask their insurers for "cover letter" confirming that the insurance covers COVID-19 with minimum coverage of 100,000 USD.

3.2 At check-in and upon arrival in Thailand, all travellers are required to present the following documents:

  • COE
  • Fit to Fly Health Certificate issued no more than 72 hours before departure time
  • Medical Certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected, using RT-PCR method, which has been certified or issued no more than 72 hours before departure time
  • Health insurance which meets the entry requirement & ASQ hotel confirmation
