On the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day and Thai Father’s Day on 5 December 2024, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland, hosted a reception to celebrate this auspicious occasion at Concept 13 Banquet Hall, Warsaw. The reception had H.E. Mr. Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Guest of Honour. Important guests included H.E. Mr. Waldemar Kraska, Chairman of the Polish-Thai Parliamentary Group and leading group members. The event was attended by more than 200 representatives from diplomatic corps, various sectors of the Polish society, friends of Thailand and Thai community in Poland.

On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered the opening remarks to welcome the guests and emphasise the importance of the Fifth of December as the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day and the Father’s Day of Thailand. The Ambassador highlighted His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great's Sufficiency Economy Philisophy (SEP), and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua's royal initiatives to support royal projects started by His Masjesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and the Queen Mother, as well as Jit Arsa Royal Project, which means “Doing Good Deeds with Heart for Country and People”. The monarchy has been the core pillar of the Thai society and serves as an enduring link between Thailand’s inspirational past, dynamic present, and promising future.

The Ambassador took this opportunity to elaborate on the foreign policy direction of Thailand’s newly formed government, which aims to strengthen relationship with all partners constructively within the framework of international laws and norms, to continue a proactive economic diplomacy, to promote Thailand’s Soft Power, to expedite FTAs negotiations with major trading partners, especially the EU, to enhance Thailand's roles on global stages and to advance the preparation for Thailand’s membership in the OECD.

In addition, the Ambassador highlighted the close bilateral relations and cooperation between Thailand and Poland in political and economic cooperation, as well as the people-to-people cooperation. The Ambassador also mentioned that Thailand and Poland’s bilateral relations would be further strengthened through the 3rd Political Consultation which was planned to be held in Thailand during the first half of the year 2025.

After the official ceremony, the guests had the opportunity to appreciate a piano recital by Miss Hikaru Shibata, a young Japanese pianist and a Friend of Thailand who spent many years of childhood in Thailand. Miss Shibata performed the song "Falling Rain" composed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and "Barcarolle in F sharp major, Op. 60" composed by Fryderyk Chopin to mark the symbol of Thai-Polish friendship. The attendees also enjoyed a wide variety of "World-ranked Thai dishes" and Thai popular beverages in the event.
