On 27–28 February 2025, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, visited Krakow to meet with Mr. Aleksander Miszalski, Mayor of Krakow. Ambassador and Mayor exchanged their views on the closer Thai-Polish relations, as well as economic opportunities and people-to-people contact between Thailand and Poland.
During this trip to Krakow, Ambassador Urasa visited the Honorary Consulate in Krakow which was established in June 2024, with consular district covering Małopolska, Silesia, Opole, and Lower Silesia. Her meeting with Mr. Wiesław Henryk Żyznowski, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Krakow, focused on the report of the consulate’s operations during the year 2024, the guidelines for the consulate's operations in 2025 in accordance with the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw's workplan to enhance economic opportunities and people-to-people relationship between Thailand and Poland in 2025, including the protection of Thai nationals in responsible areas.
Ambassador Urasa also took this opportunity to meet with representatives from the ‘Thai Student Association in Poland’ in a warm and friendly atmosphere where the Ambassador was informed of the Thai students' wellbeing. Discussions also covered the Association's workplan to promote academic activities for Thai students in Poland and those who wish to pursue further education in Poland in the future. Ambassador Urasa also assured the Embassy's full support to the work of the Association.
Established on 7 September 2024 in Krakow, the Association provides support and advise on international education for Thai students in Poland. It also serves as a networking platform and promotes academic activities among Thai students.
