On 17 September 2025, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, attended a farewell luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, on the occasion of the end of her tenure in Poland.

On this occasion, Ambassador Urasa expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland for its full support throughout her term in Poland. Ambassador Urasa also emphasised Thailand’s readiness to welcome H.E. Mr. Radosław Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, on his forthcoming visit to Thailand to co-chair the 1st Thailand–Poland Strategic Dialogue in December 2025. Ambassador Urasa further underlined Thailand’s commitment to advancing the conclusion of joint action plan as well as agreements and memoranda of understanding in various areas of cooperation which will be the key deliverables of the said meeting. These include defense, tourism, agriculture, startups business development, and MoU between the chambers of commerce of the two countries. Both sides also discussed the possibility to resume direct flights between Bangkok and Warsaw, as well as visa-related matters for Thai nationals.

On the same day, Ambassador Urasa also paid a courtesy call on members of the Polish–Thai Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Senate of Poland, including H.E. Mr. Waldemar Kraska, Senator and Chair of the Group, H.E. Mr. Leszek Czarnobaj, Senator and Vice-Chair of the Group, and H.E. Ms. Aleksandra Uznańska-Wiśniewska, Member of Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Group, to bid them farewell upon th completion of her tour of duty in Poland.

Ambassador Urasa conveyed her sincere appreciation to the Polish-Thai Parliamentary Friendship Group for its continued support of the work of the Royal Thai Embassy during her tenure. The Ambassador also emphasised the significant role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in promoting actions aimed at intensifying relations and common interests in the fields of politics, economic, and socio-cultural. In this spirit, more exchanges of visit between the friendship groups would be promoted.

In addition, the Ambassador took the opportunity to update members of the Polish–Thai Parliamentary Friendship Group on Thailand and Poland preparations for the upcoming 1st Thailand–Poland Strategic Dialogue, as well as its main deliverables, which include the work towards an agreement of a 5-year joint action plan, signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in various areas of cooperation, and negotiation on joint business plan for the resumption of direct flights between Bangkok and Warsaw.
