On 5 May 2016, Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of Thailand, visited Gniewino at the invitation of Honorable Mr. Zbigniew Walczak, Mayor of Gniewino. During the visit accompanied by the Honorable Mayor, the Ambassador was able to witness the serene, picturesque, and exceptional clean and green city, with huge potential for development of a sports and recreation center, approximately 20 kilometers from the sea, neighbouring a large touristic lake “zarnowiec” and the venue of several important factories, including the King Oscar Company recently acquired by a Thai listed company. The Ambassador was also briefed by Mr. Marcin Bialobrzeski, Director of King Oscar supply chain on the history, products lines and many awards and technical standards of the factory which employs about 500 persons and exports most of its products across the globe. During the visit, the Ambassador stayed at the Hotel Mistral which houses in its complex a large football field and training ground adjacent to a large forest trail.
