IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THAILAND PASS, PLEASE READ!

 

1. UPDATED Requirement for Entering Thailand, from 22 December 2021.

Thailand Pass will be closed for all new Test and Go and Sandbox applications (except Phuket Sandbox), starting from 00.00 hrs. on 22 December 2021 until further notice. New measures apply for all applicants on Thailand Pass, as follows; 
(1) Applicants who have received their Thailand Pass QR Code can enter Thailand under the scheme they have registered.
(2) Applicants who have registered, but have not received their QR Code must wait for their Thailand Pass to be considered / approved. Once approved, they can enter Thailand under the scheme they have registered.
(3) New applicants will not be able to register for Test and Go and Sandbox measures (except Phuket Sandbox). Thailand Pass will only accept new applicants seeking to enter Thailand under Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or Phuket Sandbox only.
(4) Passengers who will arrive in Thailand under Test and Go and Sandbox Programme must undergo their 2nd COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR technique (not ATK self-test) at government-designated facilities (no additional cost).

Travellers age below 18 years

1. Travellers aged 12 – 17 years must have at least 1 dose of vaccination and may travel independently. If travellers in this age group have not been vaccinated, then they must travel with parents/guardians and subject to the same measures as parents/guardians. All travellers in this age group must provide negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours before departure.

2. Travellers aged 6 – 11 years must travel with parents/guardian and have negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours before departure.

3. Travellers aged below 6 years do not need RT-PCR test within 72 hours before departure and must travel with parents/guardians, upon arrival they must have saliva testing.

Young dependents are subjected to same measures as their parents/guardians

Travellers Recovered from COVID-10

1. Recovered within 3 months before entering Thailand must have COVID-19 recovery form or doctor’s note certifying their recovery with no symptoms.

2. Recovered over 3 months before entering Thailand must have at least 1 dose of vaccination any time after their recovery.

 

 

*Fully vaccinated = those who have received all required doses of a vaccine registered with the Thai FDA, or approved by WHO or Thai Ministry of Public Health,
no less than 14 days before departure. (Accepted vaccines: Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sputnik). 

 

**Current flight ban from South Africa, the Republic of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Kingdom of Eswatini, Mozambique, Republic of Malawi. Other countries in Africa not listed are subjected to 14 days quarantine.

      

***Sandbox areas include, Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Surat Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao). Sandbox travellers must arrive through Phuket International Airport only. At present, domestic flight transit via Bangkok is only possible for Samui (through Bangkok Airways flight number PG5125 or PG5171 only).

Unvaccinated children under 12 travelling with vaccinated parents may enter Thailand under the same conditions as their parents. Travellers who have recovered from infection are eligible if they have received one dose of vaccine within 3 months after infection, no less than 14 days before departure, and can provide a medical certificate confirming their infection.

**Eligible Countries/Territory: Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, UK, USA, Hong Kong.

***Exception: The “21 days” requirement does not apply to travellers who resides in Thailand and travels to eligible areas for a short-term visit, provided that they have not been outside of the areas before returning to Thailand.          

****Sandbox areas include, among others, Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga, Surat Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) and Chonburi (certain districts only). Sandbox travellers must arrive through international airports at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, U-Tapao or Buriram (chartered flights only). At present, domestic flight transit to Sandbox areas via Bangkok is only possible for Samui (through designated flights only).

 

 

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Thailand Pass system will be adopted on 1 November 2021 onward at tp.consular.go.th, the Embassy will no longer be the issuer of the document, therefore please read all the instructions carefully and correctly attach all the neccessary documents required. The Embassy will not be able to assist and check any mistakes on the applicants' side.
    • Valid visa or re-entry permit (for visa application process, please refer HERE)
    • Health insurance policy must clearly state coverage of medical treatment relating to COVID-19 of USD 50,000 or equivalent. Travellers are advised to purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria here: http://covid19.tgia.org/
    • Vaccine Certificate All vaccine certificate must be attached as either jpg, jpeg, or png image file into the Thailand Pass system. If applicant upload the QR code of the EU vaccine certificate, it must be clear image file. It is advised that applicant should take a screenshot of the QR code from a digital file or vaccine certificate application, crop them, and upload them. Blurred or unclear QR code may not pass the autoapproval system and application could be processed manually instead. Further information about autoapproval can be found HERE.
    • Flight booking and Flight number
    • Confirmation of booking of quarantine facility under SHA+ or AQ standard
  • Medical Certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected, using RT-PCR method, which has been certified or issued no more than 72 hours before departure
  • Confirmation of Alternative Quarantine (AQ)
    • Booking confirmation should be shown as paid and include details about RT-PCR test
      • 1-Night Quarantine: Only booking confirmation from Agoda, Locanation, Ascend Travel, and directly from hotel is allowed 
      • Sandbox Programme (7 nights in designated provinces): Must provide SHA+ certificate. No booking confirmation from Agoda, Booking.com, or other hotel booking websites are allowed.
      • 10-Night Quarantine for unvaccinated individuals: Only booking confirmation from Agoda, Locanation, Ascend Travel, and directly from hotel is allowed hotel booking
      • Travellers can book with the hotel directly from a list of AQ as well as book a selection of AQ only through either of these options Agoda.com ; Locanation Ascendtravel ; Entry Thailand
        • Children under 12 who have not received vaccines, but are travelling with their parents, may enter quarantine for the same period as their parents 
          • If both parents are fully vaccinated; the unvaccinated children may enter quarantine for 7 days.
          • If either one of the parents are not fully vaccinated on not vaccinated and the whole family is staying in the same room, all family members must enter quarantine for 10 days.
  • Confirmation of SHA+ hotel must be issued from hotel only, booking confirmation from third party website is NOT ACCEPTED.
