Entry Requirement under COVID-19 regulations

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THAILAND PASS, PLEASE READ!

 

1. UPDATED Requirement for Entering Thailand, from 1 April 2022.

 

FULLY VACCINATED* travellers

Travellers who are
NOT FULLY VACCINATED

Quarantine

NO QUARANTINE

 

BUT must register in Thailand Pass system which requires copy of passport, vaccine certificate, and insurance

Travellers must have negative RT-PCR test result 72 hours before departure to be exempt from quarantine 

 

AND must register in Thailand Pass system which requires copy of passport, negative RT-PCR test result, and insurance

Travellers with no negative RT-PCR test  72 hours before departure must 

QUARANTINE for 5 nights at AQ hotel

(6 nights if traveller arrives in Thailand after 18.00 hrs.)

Travellers must register in Thailand Pass system which requires copy of passport, paid AQ hotel booking, and insurance

Insurance

Non-Thai travellers need health insurance with min. coverage of 10,000 USD / Thai travellers do not need health insurance

Post-arrival test

No post-arrival tests are required

One RT-PCR tests (on Day 4 or 5), at traveller’s expense, included in hotel reservation

Travellers age below 18 years

1. Children above the age of 12 but under 18 are required to present a certificate of vaccination showing 1 dose of vaccination, unless they are travelling with parents, in which case they will be exempted from having to present a certificate of vaccination.

2. Children under 12 travelling with parents are exempted from having to present a certificate of vaccination. Children under 12 can travel unaccompanied if fully vaccinated.

Travellers age below
18 years without required dose of vaccination must have negative RT-PCR test result 72 hours before departure

Young dependents are subjected to same measures as their parents/guardians

Individuals that recovered from COVID-19

  • Individuals that recovered from within 3 months before scheduled departureน must have proof of recovery and doctor's note (in English) confirming recovery from COVID-19 with no symptoms 
  • Individuals that recovered from COVID-19 more than 3 months before scheduled departure must have at least one dose of approved vaccine after recovery

 

 

 

*Fully vaccinated = those who have received all required doses of a vaccine registered with the Thai FDA, or approved by WHO or Thai Ministry of Public Health,
no less than 14 days before departure. (Accepted vaccines: Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sputnik). 

 

 

 

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Thailand Pass system will be adopted on 1 November 2021 onward at tp.consular.go.th, the Embassy will no longer be the issuer of the document, therefore please read all the instructions carefully and correctly attach all the neccessary documents required. The Embassy will not be able to assist and check any mistakes on the applicants' side.
    • Health insurance policy must clearly state coverage of medical treatment of USD 10,000 or equivalent. Travellers are advised to purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria here: http://covid19.tgia.org/
    • Vaccine Certificate All vaccine certificate must be attached as either jpg, jpeg, or png image file into the Thailand Pass system. If applicant upload the QR code of the EU vaccine certificate, it must be clear image file. It is advised that applicant should take a screenshot of the QR code from a digital file or vaccine certificate application, crop them, and upload them. Blurred or unclear QR code may not pass the autoapproval system and application could be processed manually instead. Further information about autoapproval can be found HERE.
    • Negative RT-PCR test result (for unvacinated individuals that do not want to undergo 5 days quarantine)
    • Confirmation of booking of quarantine facility under AQ standard (for unvacinated individuals without pre-departure RT-PCR test result)
  • Confirmation of Alternative Quarantine (AQ)
    • Booking confirmation should be shown as paid and include details about RT-PCR test
      • Travellers can book with the hotel directly from a list of AQ as well as book a selection of AQ only through either of these options Agoda.com ; Locanation Ascendtravel ; Entry Thailand
        • Children under 12 who have not received vaccines, but are travelling with their parents, may enter quarantine for the same period as their parents 
          • If both parents are fully vaccinated; the unvaccinated children may enter quarantine for 5 days.
          • If either one of the parents are not fully vaccinated on not vaccinated and the whole family is staying in the same room, all family members must enter quarantine for 5 days.
