On 26 April 2024, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, delivered the opening remarks at the Thai Day in Toruń at the Centre of Contemporary Art.

The event was co-organised by the Royal Thai Embassy and the City of Toruń, the Centre of Contemporary Art, Mr. Mario Betancourt Lopez, the long-time Friend of Thailand, and network of Friends of Thailand in Poland.

Over 200 participants enjoyed the presentations by Mr. Betancourt and Mr. Rafal Simonides, Muaythai Champion and a leading Friend of Thailand, about unique Thai identity and culture that have been listed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, including Songkran in Thailand, Khon, Nuad Thai (Thai massage) and Muaythai (to be proposed this year).

During the Thai Day event, the participants experienced a virtual tour of famous destinations in Thailand with equipments provided by Mr. Simonides. They also enjoyed the Thai massage and Thai dishes from Thai entrepreneurs in Toruń.

The Royal Thai Embassy, Warsaw, conveyed our wholehearted thankfulness to the City of Toruń, Centre of Contemporary Art Museum, Mr. Betancourt, Mr. Simonides, network of Friends of Thailand and Thai entrepreneurs in Toruń whose mutual contributions brought another year of success for the Thai Day in Toruń event.
