On 18 September 2014, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Poland presided over a ceremony to present financial assistance to the Mariusz Kazana Foundation for a total amount of 4,816.25 PLN (approx. 50,000THB). The ceremony was held at Department of Diplomatic Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The Foundation was represented by Mrs. Justyna Kazana, President of the Board and daughter of Mr. Mariusz Kazana, former Ditrector of Diplomatic Protocol, and the honorary witness was H.E. Mr. Piotr Wojtczak, the Director of Diplomatic Protocol.
The Mariusz Kazana Foundation was established on 29 November 2010 by Mrs. Barbara Kazana, wife of Mr. Kazana, as well as a group of friends of Mr. Kazana after his tragic death in the plane crash near Smolensk in April 2010. The said accident killed all 96 on board, including President Lech Kaczynski and Mr. Kazana. The missions of the Foundation aim to build a positive image by promoting Polish art and culture in Poland and abroad, to promote Polish art and culture among members of diplomatic corps and to capture and disseminate knowledge about the career and the person of Mr. Mariusz Kazana. The presentation of financial assistance illustrates that the Thai Government put utmost emphasis on the close bilateral tie between Thailand and Poland, which will eventually strengthen the cordial relations that exist between the two countries.
