On 19 September 2013, Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand in Warsaw organized the Royal Thai Silk Fashion Show in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand at Endorfina Foksal in Warsaw, Republic of Poland, to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 81^st Birthday.

At the event, Her Majesty the Queen’s exhibitions demonstrating her royal duties in international affairs and in promoting Thai textiles were shown. Moreover, the Team Thailand was promoting the images of Thailand in tourism and international trade, as well as other related information about Thai silk and other Thai textiles.

In addition, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw, in cooperation with the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles of Thailand, brought more than 30 Thai silk dresses designed by young Thai designers to the Show. These dresses were presented on the catwalk by thirteen top Polish models who two of them were Miss Polonia in order to illustrate the beauty of the Thai textiles and its modern styles which fit well with the lifestyles of women these days. It was also to show the public in Poland that these Thai silk and textiles are suitable to everyday’s life and are increasingly used in interior design industry.

During the show, video presentation about Her Majesty the Queen’s royal duties and the production and weaving process of Thai silk were shown. Some publications about Her Majesty the Queen and the background information about Thai textiles were also given to more than 200 guests who attended the event. These included high-level officers, top designers, owners of textile companies, local media, and diplomatic corps in Warsaw. They were very impressed with Her Majesty the Queen’s royal grace to her people and her dedication in promoting Thai silk and other Thai textiles. At the end of the day, it was a pleasure in knowing that the beauty of Thai silk and its identity were widely appreciated among the audience.

In this opportunity, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw also prepared some Thai food and snacks to serve all guests during the show to help promoting the Thai cuisine in Poland.
