PM Yingluck’s visit to Poland as guest of the Government of both countries is aimed to create new opportunities and cooperation as well as to seek new markets for Thailand in the European region. Poland is a country full of potential with its border adjacent to 7 European countries. Thus, Poland could be Thailand’s gateway to Europe, and upgrade of economic relations and cooperation especially in trade and investment is anticipated.
PM Yingluck’s visit to Republic of Poland during July 3-5, 2013 marks the first visit of a Thai Prime Minister to the Central European region, and upon the invitation of Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland made during their meeting in Vientiane for ASEM 9 in November 2012. This reflects Poland’s view on Thailand as a country of priority whose relations and cooperation needs to be further reinforced.
