On 11 – 14 February 2013, a group of officers from the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw led by H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, the Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Poland, visited Thai community in Katowice and Zakopane which are the cities in the southern part of Poland. This visit is a part of Mobile Consular Service Project in 2013.
In Katowice, the Embassy visited Thai workers at Thai-Pan restaurant and massage salon, S.Khonkaen’s employees at Paruzel Factory, massage therapists at Thai Sabai, and chefs at Thai Express restaurant. The Embassy have learned from the meeting with the Thai people that their working and living environment are in good condition due to attentive care from their employers. As for S.Khonkaen’s employees, the business partnership between S.KhonKaen and Paruzel Company is functioning very smoothly.
In Zakopane, the Embassy visited Thai massage therapists at Salon Masazu Tajskiego located at Aqua Park recreation centre. The Embassy has been informed by the manager that the Salon is the only Thai traditional massage salon in Zakopane although the city is regarded as one of the main tourist destinations in Poland. Similar to those in Katowice, all Thai people working in this Salon also have good and friendly living conditions. In this occasion, the Ambassador also gave commemorative coins which celebrate the 85th Birthday Anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the Thai community in Katowice and Zakopane. The coins were distributed to Thai people oversea by the initiative of H.E. Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Such mobile consular service proves to bring delight and happiness to the Thai Community which will result in the unification and strong network between the Embassy and Thai community in Poland in the future.
