During 23 – 27 July 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw through a cooperation with the National Innovation Agency (NIA) launched the “Food and Agricultural Innovation Exchange Programme to develop Thai – Polish Economic Cooperation”. As part of this programme, the Polish experts on food and agricultural innovation: (1) Ms. Julia Szopa, President of Startup Poland – one of the biggest technology thinktanks in Poland and in Central Europe and (2) Mr. Piotr Grabowski, co – founder of FOODTECH – the first accelerator in Poland specializing in food and agricultural technologies – are invited as speakers in Startup Thailand 2019. During their visit, they also met with the representatives from public, academic and private sectors to exchange knowledge and experiences on fostering food and agricultural innovation. To further enhance concrete cooperation between Thailand and Poland on startups promotion, the NIA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Startup Poland, rendering Startup Poland the first partner of Thailand in Central Europe and, at the same time, Thailand becoming the first partner of Startup Poland in Asia. Furthermore, the Royal Thai Embassy invited Polish startups with strong potentials to participate in Startup Thailand‘s International Pavilion for the first time which allowed them to closely engage with their counterparts in public and private sectors, particularly through business matching deals. This increased business interaction and networking opportunities have increased mutual understanding and established dialogues which will pave way for further economic cooperation between the two countries.
