Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland in her capacity of Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Ukraine with residence in Warsaw visited Kyiv to attend the 2nd Thai – Ukraine Political Consultations during 3 – 6 July 2019 with the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs as the Head of the Thai delegation, Ambassador Sansanee also performs other official duties during the same visit to Kyiv.

During 3 – 6 July 2019, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland in her capacity of Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Ukraine with residence in Warsaw together with Mr. Tohpong Smiti, First Secretary, visited Kyiv to attended the 2nd Thai – Ukraine Political Consultations with Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Head of the Thai delegation which was the first official bilateral Political Consultations meeting in a decade to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and enhance relationships in various fields as well as the coordination of the two countries in the international fora and intensifying people-to-people contact. The Head of Thai delegation paid a courtesy call and have discussions with H.E. Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Ambassador Sansanee and Director of the Department of European Affair of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand are also attended the courtesy call.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also hosted a working lunch where the Thai delegations were joined by H.E. Mr. Sergiy Korsunsky, Director of Hennadaii Udovenko Dioplomatic Academy of Ukraine. In addition, Ambassador Sansanee joined the Thai delegation to visit Antonov aircraft manufacturing plant which is a major producer of aircraft for civilian and military in Ukraine and also the owner of Mrija aircraft the largest aircraft in the world. In this connection, Ambassador Sansanee not only joined the schedule meeting and activities related to the Thai delegation attending the 2nd Thai – Ukraine Political Consultations but also performed various important activities for enhancing Thai – Ukraine relations such as:

          (1) courtesy call and a meeting with H.E. Mr. Oleksii Perevezentsev, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and senior officials where both sides discussed possible ways to accelerate bilateral trade and investment including exchange of business delegations; (2) courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Rade Bulatović, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Ukraine and Dean of Diplomatic Corps of Ukraine. Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Ukraine is the Ambassador who is the most senior of all Ambassadors in Ukraine at that time that can perform this duty.   (3) meeting and discussions on consular works and the developments in Ukraine with  Mr. Mykhajlo Radoutskyy, Honorary Consul for Thailand, who is currently serving as a President’s special advisor. (4) Ambassador hosted a dinner on 5 July 2019 to welcome Mr. Sasiwat, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs and the thai delegation at Santori restaurant. During the meal, Mr. Mykhajlo Radoutskyy Honorary Consul, invited Mr. Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv (which is scheduled to dine at the restaurant) to meet with the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs and Ambassador during which the idea of promoting Kiev and Bangkok to be Sister Cities was mentioned by both sides. (5) Ambassador Sansanee and Mr. Tohpong visited the Chernobyl National Museum in Kyiv, which they were informed about the devastation and huge tragedy caused by the nuclear reactor in Chernobyl of Ukraine and leaned also the restoration and prevention measures for the future as well.
